New Delhi, March 14:Now , as the elections of the five states are over the government· is expected to announce· the revision· on allowances for employees of central· government· at any point· of time· . Earlier , until March 8 the model· code· of conduct· was imposed on the government· by the Election Commission of India . The House Rent Allowance is also expected to be· revised as per the 7 th pay· commission· with arrears . The revised HRA calculator· is available on gconnect.in . Central Government can calculate· their revised allowances by entering their pay· band· and other details as required in the respective fields .
On February 27 , The Committee on Allowances , headed by Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa has submitted its report· on Housing Rent Allowance (HRA) to the government· , reported NDTV India . As per the Finance ministry , the committee reviewing the 7 th Pay Commission Allowances did not submit· its report· and the committee is in the last· stages of submission· . The HRA is very vital for the central· government· employees as kit· benefits all in the range· except those who have· already been provided accommodation· by the government· . This should have· actually been revised from July 25 , 2016 , the day the 7 th Pay Commission came into effect· .
The National Joint Council of Action (NJCA) have· raised their voice· to consider· HRA from January 1 , 2016 , the day 7 th Pay Commission was revised . NJCA- brings employees of central· government· and Railway Union under one roof .
It is being speculated that the HRA rates would be· retained by the committee and that is 30 , 20 and 10 per cent for X· , Y , and Z class· .
Earlier there was news that the 7 th pay· commission· had recommended that HRA should be· paid at the rate· of 24 , 16 and 8 per cent respectively of the new basic pay· and the employee· union· on this news had a different take· , that had said if the government· couldn’t raise· the HRA then it shouldn’t decrease· it either .
